Poor Baby

Lexi isn't getting better. In fact, she got worse.

She's been on Zantac or Zantec or whatever it's called and that wasn't really doing the job, and so the started her on Prilosec which made life worse for her this week. She's thrown up at least half of the half she's supposed to be eating (aka, 6-7 ounces out of 12-15 ounces which is SUPPOSED to be 24 ounces). She just can't eat. And if she does...well, let's just say we've done the laundry every day this week. She's only gained about 23 ounces in 2.5 months (that's a pound and a half).
So, we took her back in today to try and get some answers.

No answers came.

She's dropped weight this week which is not a good sign, and is now down to 8lbs 10oz since Monday's almost 8lbs 13oz. She got an ultrasound on her stomach today to see if there was some kind of deformity on the muscle, which there's not (thankfully - that would've meant surgery!) but they weren't able to watch her swallow any milk because she was screaming when I tried to feed her (normal occurrence). They've put her on prescription formula to see if that helps, switched her back to Zantac and we'll head back to the doctor on Monday morning to get her checked out by the pediatrician.

She's also started to have panic attacks and they literally scare me to death and I can't get that petrified look on her face out of my head. It's not the "where's my mom?!?!" look because I know what that looks like; it's a look of pure terror. She had 2 today and 1 last night.

We're very concerned and worried about our sweet baby girl and hope that we can figure this out so our Lexi-bean can grow and be happy and healthy! We'd appreciate your prays if you are willing!

On a brighter note, here is an adorable picture of our beautiful baby girl!

PS: Brought her to campus today to get a few things done, and let's just say that Lexi + Women's Conference = I stopped every 5 steps so all the ladies could "oo" and "ah".

Frederick Family Update, Picture Style

Lexi @ 9 weeks. She is still struggling eating so she is now on a stronger medicine. She weighs 8 lbs, 12 oz and is 21 in tall. She loves smiling and wiggling! She's starting to become more independent but still loves to snuggle. She has been asked twice to be a baby model, which makes us proud! Unfortunately we had to turn one down. She is actually starting to get more hair but its either white blonde or strawberry blonde!

Playing with Daddy @ the hotel on the way home from Iowa. We were there for a whole week! Terrell worked construction with Rich all week and went kayaking twice. Lexi and I played with Grandma, Grandpa, Jodi, Mindy, and the cousins. We also went to Jodi's tennis meet and band competition. Lexi was a great traveller! Couldn't have asked for a better baby during the carride!

Jodi's 16th Birthday. Mindy bought her this outfit as a joke but Jodi ended up looking dang hot in it! I can't believe Jodi is 16!!!!!!!

Dear Girls Upstairs:

Curfew is midnight on every night except Friday which is 1:30am, so tell the boys that stay until 4am almost every night to leave at curfew. Yes, that's right; we can hear you.

Also, please don't romp around upstairs with huge elephant feet. The floors are already creaky.

Oh, and there's really no reason to scream and throw furniture. We're in college now, remember?

All our love,

The Fredericks

PS: We should be sorry when our baby is crying really loud, but sorry, sometimes we're not.
PPS: By the way, I'm listening to your loud music as we speak, and this is the fourth time in a row you've played "We Like to Party".
PPPS: And by the way, just now was the THIRD time you've tripped our breaker for the kitchen. It needs to stop.

The Skinny on Lexi

The skinny on Lexi is that she's too skinny.

Well, of course she is Doc! Haven't we been telling you for a month that there's something wrong?

Lexi is 7 weeks old today and weighs 8 lbs. 4 oz. We will take her in next week to get her 2-month well-baby check up to get the rest of her checked out! She is starting to outgrow newborn clothes and is back to wearing clothes that are too big for her! (aka 0-3mon) She can still wear some cute newborns, but my favorites are just a little bit too small now!

Anyways, for those of you who don't know, Lexi has been a sick little baby pretty much her whole little life. She's only gained essentially a little more than a pound in 7 weeks, which is not enough. For a couple weeks she was throwing up everything she ate, and on top of that, she struggled breathing! Lately, it's not so much throwing up as it is constantly spitting up and not eating, or screaming when she tries to eat because it hurts her tummy/throat, and so, she doesn't eat! To top THAT off, she has a cold, and so her, me, and her snot-sucker have become good friends (actually to Lexi, it's her enemy). All these fabulous things have made our little Lexi-bean one tired, sick little baby.

Finally, today, we took her in because we couldn't take it anymore and they FINALLY gave her some medicine for acid reflux. Hopefully this helps and she starts gaining weight! If the medicine isn't helping within a week, they are going to do an ultrasound of her tummy to find out what is that matter with this poor baby girl!

There's the skinny on Lexi! Stay tuned for more cute pictures and fabulous updates!

Swim Suit Possibilities!

I have looked and looked for swim suits 0-6 mon size in the stores and can ever only find 9 mon+ so I did some searching online (thanks Rachelle!) and found adorable possibilities. Here are our choices (in no particular order):

Fish Swim suit: Baby Gap
Pros: 2 piece, easy to change in/out of; diaper changing = easier; sleeves = less possible sunburn; cute color; my personal favorite
Cons: Most expensive of the 4
Cherry Swimsuit: Gymboree
Pros: snaps at the bottom for easy changing in/out of; easy diaper changing
Cons: only comes in 3-6m size; least personal favorite; expensive
Rosette Stripe: Old Navy
Pros: fairly cheap, cute cute cute
Cons: no easy changing in/out or diaper; only comes in 0-3m or 6m+
Giraffe Tutu: The Children's Place
Pros: Terrell's fav, cute and spunky, cap sleeved for more sun protection; cheapest
Cons: no easy access to changing in/out or diapers

Don't you wish you were little and could have adorable swim suits like these?!

Cutie-Patootie

Lexi is so cute. Yesterday she was sooo happy! She's been really starting to smile and yesterday she was smiling and playing a lot so of course I took pictures and a video. And isn't she a cutie-patootie? Here are a few pictures and the video. Sorry the video is sideways - make sure you turn your head or computer screen. It's also not very good quality for some reason, but it doesn't escape the fact that it's stinkin' adorable.

Biker Dude

For those of you who don't know, Terrell is a huge biker. Not a motorcyle. Actual bikes. He downhills (not so much anymore, actually), mountain bikes, and road bikes. He even has the gear to boot! (The picture, below, he's wearing blue MonaVie gear that he had just recently purchased and was trying on)
Recently, he bought a bike trainer so he can bike indoors on his actual bike. It's pretty much rollers that he sets his bike on and Terrell rides on that. It took him awhile to get used to balancing on rollers while biking, but now he's pro! Having a bike trainer allows him to bike in whatever whether because he can do it indoors! He was SO excited that he got it, and I'm glad he's so happy! He's been wanting one forever!

when you're pregnant, your brain shrinks.

it's true. a proven fact. thanks pregnancy hormones; thanks for making us forget everything and for shrinking our brain.

you would think that BAM, just as you have your sweet little baby and no longer have a stomach the size of watermelon, your brain would inflate to its normal size and you could remember things.

the answer is nope. it doesn't. it takes awhile. therefore, you still have stinkin' forgetful post-pregnancy moments.

take for example, just yesterday, i was headed out the door to drive over and hang out with my lovely friend rachelle and her adorable baby cayden, when i shut the door to our apartment, walk up the stairs, and realize as i'm about to go to the car that my keys are locked inside our house. we don't have spares. so, now i have no way to get in the car, let alone drive, and no way to retrieve my keys inside my now locked house. and i have my little baby in her carseat, crying. and it was raining outside.

:(

thanks shrunken brain.

don't worry - i remembered diapers.

and on the bright side, i have a wonderful husband who doesn't work far away and literally ran home in the rain to let us inside. thanks honey, you are the best.

here is us, all super happy that we locked our keys inside:

hopefully my brain inflates again.
