Its only 9am and I am cracking up!

These two are crackin me up. I watch Luc every Tuesday Thursday and boy are they funny kids together. I've had my fill of laughs already today and its only 9am!

They were eating chocolate cherrios together and for some reason thy kept accidentally stepping in the bowl knocking them over whatever. Really it was accidental ....they are so clumsy! Finally I said okay no more and took them away. Both of them immediately signed MORE and I said no we are all done. They be sad looks on their cute little faces. So I decided that if thy could find cherrios on the floor still they could eat them. Without missing a beat try both were scrounging the floor for cherrios. Obviously they found some cuuz I hear ecstatic mmmMmmmmss coming from the front room.

Silly kids.

I was just currently interrupted by a major giggle from Lexi only to turn around and see Luc sitting on the floor.feeding Lexi a sippy while she is standing up.

Oh those two.

Did I mention that Lexi tries to be such a big help around the house? I just saw her tying to change her baby dolls diaper and put baby powder on its bum. What a little mommy.

La dee dah.

I feel like I can't think of anything to post! Could that be because I do not have a camera?! I THINK SO! Stinker Lexi spilled milk all over it in San Diego and it finally bit the dust. Needless to say, I'm really bummed, as it's been a long time now since I've become camera-less. I feel like a bum! I LOVE going picture crazy. Ah, shoot. Hopefully a new camera will be in the picture soon!

Kids have strokes too.

Here is a picture of my dear friend Parker. He absolutely ROCKS - he posted this picture on my Facebook after receiving the "Kids have strokes too" bracelet in the mail.

Lexi @ 16 months.

Age - 16 months
Weight - 18.6 lbs
Height - 29 inches

She knows what snake says (ssss) and what a camel says (tstst! aka, spitting).
She likes to say "serious" "Dora" "Dad" "I did it" and "akdgja;sldkgjalskdj;alksd".
She still loves Dora. Scratch that. She still is obsessed with Dora. Just come look at our house.
She is really into reading books with Mommy. As in: get a book, climb on Mom's lap, read it, get down, get another book, climb on Mom's lap, read it, get down, get ANOTHER book, and so on and so on until Mommy has had enough!!!!
She likes to play in her "sand box" on the balcony.
She wishes she could play with Luc all day.
She goes to Nursery on Sundays (Terrell and I are in Primary teaching the Sunbeams).
She can fold her arms and be reverent.
She's a gymnastics star. :)
She can FINALLY hold a bottle!!!! (most of the time)
She can sign "more" "done" and "food".
She thinks everyone and everything is her best friend.
She wants to help with everything.
She snuggles with absolutely everything. (and I mean everything...bottles, books, babies, shoes, feet, diapers...)
She loves dancing. All day.
She wears a size 3 or 4 shoe.
She wears a size 6/9 mon or 12 mon clothes. And sometimes if we're lucky...18 months!
She is getting better at naps and going to bed! (yay!)
She doesn't love swimming so much.
She checks herself out in the mirror after EVERYTHING. And I mean EVERYTHING! (diaper change, new clothes, lotion on, jacket on, hair combed, etc....)
She likes to go "find Jodi" on our fridge.
She knows where all her body parts are! (She likes tummy and nose the best!)
She likes to tickle! Especially people's feet!
She loves to talk to Grandma E on the phone.
She has her one year molars on one side, and they are coming in on the other. Besides those, she has 8 teeth.
She likes to sing "If You're Happy and You Know It..."
She is one spirited child.
All her therapy and doctors lately have taken a toll on her but she is doing great!
She will be getting her brace for her leg/foot and thumb this week!

Terrell
Terrell began his new job at Roundhouse Racing. He is loving it! He has been working crazy hours for BYU Police though - poor guy has maybe gotten a total of 15 hours of sleep in the past week! :(   Terrell also celebrated his 26th birthday! Yay! He got a Wii (okay we already had that, but we decided to count it!!), a new face shield for his motorcycle helmet, and motorcycle gear for me! :) We also went to Tucanos for the free birthday meal! (Good thing it was free too...the meal still cost us about $30!) Today we "celebrated" Father's Day. Lexi gave her daddy a cool tie with road bikers on it, and I got him a great little book call 33 Habits of a Really Good Man. I sure love him!

For some reason, I decided to be awesome and finish ALL my cards for the Card Club I'm in. That's right - for the rest of the year (except for November's since I didn't have the theme!) I feel pretty awesome. I also had a super-fabulous girl's night with Alex that consisted of Olive Garden, Psych and crafting. Yeah, buddy! I've been reading a whole bunch like always, and I love love books! I wish I could get a job as a book reviewer. Or as an organizer. That'd be cool too.

Lexi
Lexi is busy busy with therapy, doctor's appointments, playing, and gymnastics. We have her in swim lessons, which isn't really her favorite thanks to being put under water on Day 2 of swimming. I'm going to post more about Lexi in the next post, so I'll keep this one short and sweet!

Lexi in a Basket.

The other day I heard Lexi squealing. I went to find her and this is what I found: Lexi had taken all her dolls out of her basket and was standing in it!

What a weirdo! :)

She thinks she's ultra cool.

These pictures are blurry because I can NEVER get a normal good picture of Lexi! She's too wiggly! But these are good ones to show how much she loves her little sunglasses! Most kids get upset when you put sunglasses on, but Lexi will get upset when she doesn't have them ON! What a goof. She's kind of a diva. I was trying to get Lexi to look at me and said "Lexi! Look at Mommy!" She proceeded to look and me and pull her sunglasses down by her nose and looked over the top. I laughed so hard I didn't get a picture!

Mountain of Cake.

After SIX boxes of cake, all falling apart, I had finally just pieced what I had together. It seriously looked like....yikes! So I drizzled melted frosting over the top and pour the Oreo pieces. Then it looked like a pile of dirt for real. Good thing it was supposed to....right?!?! Yeah, the cakes hated me this time.

Luc and Lexi

Lexi's best friend is Luc. They play together every day. They are also in gymnastics together.

They are less than 24 hours apart and people often mistake them as twins.

Luc and Lexi often wear pretty much the same outfit....

Today Terrell is 26! I love him so much and I sure am glad he was born! :)

I just realized its not quite June 12 yet! Oh well! Happy birthday anyways! Pictures of the birthday boy and day to come....once we celebrate it!!!!

In my family it's tradition to have a sign for your birthday. (Thanks Mom! ) and so this is the one I made for Terrell this year!

biker chick

Terrell got a motorcycle a few months ago. After two months he was allowed to take passengers but I didn't have any gear yet. I finally got some last night and went on my first ride! It was fun and I felt pretty legit. The only bad thing was that my bum fell asleep! The coolest part was the little kids that would gawk and wave at us at the stoplights. I guess we looked ultra cool.

A broken Axe.

Awhile ago our lizard Axe tried to make a super jump from his cage to the ground. He made it....but ended up breaking his leg. We finally took him to the pet hospital when it started looking realllllly broken. He has a double broken leg and his whole left front leg is splinted and wrapped. He had 2 xrays and has to take pain meds. Poor guy! He will have it for a month.

Great Grandpa Johnson

Lexi is lucky to have most of her great grandparents alive. On Thursday we went up to visit my Grandpa and Grandma Johnson. They are such wonderful people! Here is a picture of Lexi and her 94 year old Great Grandpa Johnson. He loves.children and knows each of his great grandchildren by name and what number they are for him. Lexi is his 52nd grandchild. Lexi was reading him a story about numbers. This is definitely a picture to keep!!!!

Lexi Update.

Today Lexi met with her Rehab/Physical Therapist at the Orem Community Hospital. They're great! It was a long appointment - 2 hours! They went through a lot of things with us and worked with Lexi a lot. I'll try to make this as brief as possible - I know these emails can get kind of lengthy!

Lexi will be doing some intensive stretches every day, 2 times a day. Each stretch is 2 min (or sets of 30 sec) long. We will be stretching: hips, hamstring, ankle, etc.

She will be seeing them at the Orem Hospital every 2 weeks for about 2 hours.

She will be fitted for a brace on her ankle/foot/calf on Monday at Northwest Orthopedics. She will have to wear this every day for 6-8 hours. We aren't sure how long Lexi will have to wear it, but it depends on how well she responds to everything. I will send pictures of the 2 options later. One is more of a foot/ankle brace (called a hinge), and the other is a full boot brace that goes from her mid calf to her foot. Either one is recommended; we are still unsure which we will do. There are benefits and downsides to both.

Lexi will be receiving Botox treatments at Primary Children's on July 19 at 9am. She will receive injections in her thumb pad, calf, ankle, foot, forearm and shoulder. She will be put under for these injections. Botox will have to be done about every 3-6 months for a while.

One week after Botox, Lexi will be receiving a serial cast on her foot/ankle/calf. This is basically to force her right lower extremity into a forced stretch. She will receive 2-3 rounds of casting (each for 7 -10 days at a time).

Lexi will be fitted for a splint/brace for her thumb and arm through Orem Rehab as well. Luckily her PEIP Occupational Therapist also works at Orem Rehab, so she will be the one fitting Lexi for her splint!

Lexi likes to sit in a "W" position which is very detrimental to joints/muscles/etc in her legs. She does this because it is easier for her right side. She is NOT allowed to do this any more! We will use verbal cues such as "Lexi! Sit like a princess!" or "Lexi! Fix your feet!" to get her out of that position. If any of you happen to be babysitting Lexi, please do these verbal cues and help her fix her feet. It's really important. If we are with you and Lexi, we will do it, so please let us.

We really want to get the word out there that "Kids Have Strokes Too"! We have ordered silicone bracelets that are purple and blue (pediatric stroke awareness colors) that we will be selling to help people become more aware of this. Like you, we didn't realize all this could happen to little kids - especially our own! We are selling them for $2 each or $10 for 6. Our goal is not necessarily to raise money for Lexi's medical bills/Stroke research, but to increase the awareness of Pediatric Strokes and all things associated with it. We have a youth size for the younger kids and the standard size for everyone else. We would love for everyone to have one, and wear it as often as possible to get the word out there. We hope you can help this cause and increase awareness. The bracelets say "Kids Have Strokes Too  chasa.org". Let you friends and additional family members know, too! If you decide to get a bracelet, please wear it on you Right wrist, as this is the side that is affected in Lexi. Bracelets will be delivered to us on June 23, and distributed from there.

This is the only thing I've been doing in my spare time. Lately it's all be "educational" type books: parenting, marriage, relationships, etc. I need to get me some fiction.

I want a manicure. Or to try the Sally Hansen Salon Effects.

5. Whiten!

I also want to whiten my teeth. Yessirreee

 6. Basketball

I want this. For Lexi. And me. I can't tell you how many times I've almost made this purchase.

7. Maid Service

Did I mention that I'm my own maid? Yeah, that's right. It's all I do.
