Lexi's Blessing

lexi was blessed by her daddy on march 14, 2010. it was a very special day. both families were able to attend but i only have photos with my parents. her dress was made by terrell's mom. terrell and i found a bow at macey's that matched perfect; then we went to joann's so i could make it for her to wear. i also made a little blessing bracelet. lexi was so good during her blessing - she didn't cry at all - just a little bit wiggly towards the end! we loved having her uncle, great-uncle, both grandpa's, and a great grandpa all there in the circle with terrell and lexi.

to do list.

Today

"Celebrate the everyday"

Thanks to a wise and awesome mother, who sent me a card the other week with that phrase on the front, and her words on the inside:

"I liked this card because there's something to celebrate everyday when you're a mom -- whether it's something new your little one did, or just that you made it through the day!"

I often remind myself of celebrating the everyday, and my mom's words. Celebrate the everyday is my new favorite quote.

However, I think that today I'll be celebrating the fact that I made it through the day.

That's what I had to keep telling myself today as my poor baby cried all morning and all afternoon. Poor thing...she can't breathe, her tummy hurts, and she was tiiiiired! Finally, she fell asleep and I put her down in her crib. Ten minutes later, I went in to check on her and she was still asleep...until I went to get the camera. This is what I found when I returned:

Sigh.

On a brighter note, I finally have a picture where you can see just how blonde our little Lexi-bean is! (See the first picture!)

I sure love my baby though!

> We moved to a new place. It's bigger, and includes a washer and dryer in the apartment. It's also going to be saving us some money. Not to mention we are no longer an apartment number. We have an actual address.

> I will severely miss our Wymount ward. The only 2 things I won't miss about that ward are having church begin at 8am, and having to play the piano in Relief Society.

> Lexi was blessed by Terrell on Sunday 3/14. We l0ved having family here to be in attendance! (It was Daylight Savings time, so really, we had church at 7am that day.)

> Lexi will be 4 weeks old on Tuesday. As of Friday 3/19 she weighed 7 lbs 6 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. She's still a little tyke, but we sure love her!

> My family came for their Spring Break. I LOVE THEM! And thanks to them SO MUCH for everything they did for us this week!!!

> I'm ready for the semester to be over. I don't like school. AND, I haven't really been in the last 3 weeks. Me likey.

> Terrell is going to paint the kitchen in our new place to make it look nicer and brighter.

> The concrete/iron walk-way on the stairs at Terrell's work collapsed. Now they have to replace ALL the stairs/walkways there. I wish I had a better story for this, but that's where it ends.

Too young?

I don't think Terrell and I are too young to have a baby.He's turning 25 this year and I'm turning 22. Too young? Maybe for some, but not for us! Plus, Heavenly Father wanted to send us this little Lexi-bean, so He thinks we are going to do just fine! In fact, I know we're going to be just fine!

I am just wondering why lots of people want to tell us we're too young!

Just look at her face. You wish you could be her parents - she's that cute.

I'm pretty sure that "the ellen degeneras show" is absolutely hilarious. Not to mention the fact that I love that she gives things to people who really need it. I must say that I'm a fan of Ellen Degeneras (even if I may not like all of her life choices).

Hello my name is Lexi, and I'm a Burrito!

I hope you rolled your R's when you read that. We call her our little Burrito every single time we wrap her in our signature "Burrito Wrap". And it even sometimes slips out when she's not wrapped up.

Here's the Reader's Digest version, that's actually really long:

We went to the hospital on Monday morning around 7:30am because I hadn't felt her move in about 24 hours, which is unusual, but highly unusual for our little baby! We were there for about 3 hours, getting monitored, and had some blood work, and they sent us home and we were told to watch her movement for 2-3 hours, hoping to get 10 movements. That didn't happen, so it was back to the hospital for us at 1:30pm for a fluid test and a non-stress test.

They found a small concern with the placenta and how it might not be working 100% (don't worry, it was still working, but there was a chance it wouldn't) so they decided to induce me. UVRMC was sooo busy that we stayed hooked up to the monitor until 4:45 or so waiting for a room in labor and delivery.

They started "inducing" with the gel stuff (twice, aka 12 hours), then on Tuesday morning moved to Pitocin and the epidural. Finally, after FOREVER, I could start pushing around 3pm or so. Yay, Baby! It took forever to get to that point, and it was a total emotional roller coaster for me!

At 4:00pm Baby Lexi Lee was born! SHE IS HERE! :) 7 lbs 2 oz, 19 inches, completely healthy!!! We love her. And Terrell is such a proud Daddy! And I'm such a proud Mommy!

We left the hospital FINALLY on Thursday and got home around noon. She was Miss Grumpy Pants that day.
